- 96 Punkte DECANTER Georgina Hindle (012026): Perfumed and highly scented on the nose, this is chewy, juicy, bright and serious at the same time, held together by the acidity and fine layers of tannins giving support and weight. Stays cool all the way through the palate, with liquorice notes and a flint aspect, but with a juicy, lively core adding nuance. A really nice wine for Batailley, such drinkability yet still with structure to age really well. 2028-2050.
- 96 Punkte James Suckling: The minty, restrained nose shows dark cherries and black currants layered with cedar and crushed stones. The palate is succulent and elegant, with ethereal fruit framed by fine-grained tannins that lean toward firmness yet remain integrated and harmonious. This has depth, volume and approachability. 79 cabernet sauvignon, 19 merlot and 2 petit verdot. Open but will evolve nicely over the coming years. Drink or hold.

Its quite a serious take, but it has a juicy, almost sweet core of blackcurrant and cherry, with a slate finish. Well constructed, precise, finessed

Squid ink, slate, cassis, bilberry, slate, crayon, black chocolate, plenty of tannic grip, a smudge of grilled cedar oak and a squeeze of mint, it's all here. 57 new oak for ageing. On the palate well balanced with ripe tannins, finely grained, complemented by juicy fruit quoting the nose, excellent structure and length. Another great Batailley.
