- 94 Punkte DECANTER Jonathan Cristaldi (082024 ) : The 2008 vintage was a challenging one, with troubling spring frosts, which reduced yields, followed by late-season heat spikes in August and September. The wine's colour harbours more red hues and is less dense with less palate weight than the 2012 or 2014, which I sampled on the same day in August of 2024 during a tasting with Lisa Togni and her dad, none other than Philip Togni. Despite its lack of weight, it remains quite bright and energetic in the aromatics, which reveal dusty minerals and elegant cedarwood spices with a hint of white pepper. Full-bodied, the wine features sweet tea tannins with a powdery quality, complemented by loads of rich, loamy earth, tobacco, and sweet cassis. While leaner on the finish, the wine still delivers plenty of tension. 2024-2038.

Smoke, black olive, sage, grilled herbs and a whole host of dark fruit flavors give this brooding Cabernet Sauvignon unusual complexity. Although already quite expressive, the 2008 has a long road ahead of it. 2018-2028.
